I can't promise you this workbook will start your year off with a literal bang, but it'll sure get your heart racing, thoughts flowing, spine tingling--all those good things, and you don't even have to be horizontal. Or vertical, or one of those positions that requires six months of yoga, you totes do you.
Ev'Yan, an amazing writer, sexuality doula, queer woman of color and A-Camp alumna, and self describes the workbook and ritual as "going back in time and looking at all that happened in 2016 in all areas of my life—with my work, with my relationships, with my body—and then releasing it all in a burning ceremony. Think candles, incense, journals on the floor, slips of paper to burn, tarot, and Solange playing in the background." For me, it's a view of the city, kitties by my side, something pithy on my podcast app and leftover cider from New Year's to toast goodbye to 2016. But that's the best part--what you make of the work is totally up to you.
The first part of the workbook gets into the good stuff, bad stuff, and learning-process stuff from 2016, and what you look forward to or want to create in 2017. What I really loved is how you can take it--totally manifesting if you're into the more esoteric and spiritual side of life, or totes practical if you're like me and into action on the physical plane. It's a ritual I'm making time for on the second of January, and I wholeheartedly endorse you doing the same.
