What I'm Reading: Kissing the Witches

Did y'all read that? The fairy tale retellings by Emma Donogue? I haven't revisited it in a few years, but it was the first book with lesbians in that I ever read that wasn't a horrifying Oprah's Book Club selection. (If I'm ever feeling particularly spicy I will do a post on the horrifying queer characters in cishet books of my youth.)

I read exactly a page of Labyrinth Lost and into my Kindle it went. Death magic, a quest in a fantastical underworld, and a love triangle that I'm rooting for! I'll keep y'all posted on this one.

Learned about A.C. Wise from The Ultra-Fabulous Glitter Squadron Saves the World Again (like, check out that late 90s/early 00s queer optimist utopia lit title), found out The Kissing Booth Girl was on the horizon. It's out in eBook today, and the variety of stories sounds incredible! With A.C. Wise's imagination,

Fandom-based internet-abetted slow-burn romance? Yes please, I can't wait to dig into Gena/Finn by Hannah Moskowitz and Kat Helgeson (1.99 on Kindle! Go check it!).

Speaking of Cyber Monday reads, Out on Good Behavior by Dahlia Adler is still 99 cents! My section of Book Twitter has been raving about it so of course I jumped. I've been promised player/virgin dynamics with heart and, hey, love me some new adult. (And the cover! 2 girls kissing!)

I have no words I'm just going to hide under my blankets and vibrate gently like my cat Tiger on a big dose of happy drugs from the vet. A&B  by J.C. Lillis is out TOMORROW and I can't wait to devour it!
